Cloud computing has been gaining popularity in bigger businesses, but according to one IT education service, using it may mean good news for small businesses.
Ivanaka Menken, CEO of IT education company The Art of Service, said that cloud computing could help start-up businesses lower costs and allow them to focus on making money. Cloud computing is any program or service that is run on an Internet connection, the company said, with services and software taken care of externally so businesses wont have storage issues.
“Cloud computing lowers the dependency on start-up capital and gives the business owner more freedom to focus on generating revenue,” Menken said, adding that it would be cheaper to start with cloud computing rather than switch to it later and have employees learn new techniques.
Satya Nadella, president of server and tool business at Microsoft, said that cloud computing can help businesses build strong practices that will help advance how business is done. Nadella said that the company is releasing System Center 2012 next week, which will help Microsoft customers build private clouds and manage other systems publicly and privately.
